Cheryl Laccone is a paralegal in the New Haven office. She began her career with the Federal Defender Office in 1990 as a Legal Secretary and has advanced multiple times over the years. As the longest-serving member of the FDO support staff Cheryl has a broad range of skills and an invaluable institutional memory for office operations. She has extensive knowledge of and experience in all matters relating to the preparation of motions and briefs, as well as filing procedures in district courts, appellate courts and the U. S. Supreme Court. Her expertise extends to cite-checking, case management, editing and proofreading sentencing memoranda and appellate briefs, litigation support, and training new support staff. Cheryl trained in Legal Secretarial/Paralegal Studies at the New Haven Academy of Business, completing the two-year program in one year and receiving the Academic Achievement Award.
