Allison is an Assistant Federal Defender in the New Haven Office. Prior to joining the FDO in June 2018, Allison was a partner at the firm of Sheehan, Reeve & Near, where she practiced criminal defense at both the state and federal level. She has represented clients charged with offenses ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, and has handled all phases of litigation, including trial and appeal. Prior to working at Sheehan, Reeve & Near, Allison was a staff attorney at New Haven Legal Assistance and worked at the general practice firm of Jacobs, Grudberg, Belt, Dow & Katz, P.C. Allison serves on the Local Criminal Rules Advisory Committee and the CJA Committee for the District of Connecticut. For the years 2012 through 2015, she was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and in 2017 she was selected by her peers to be a New England Super Lawyer in the area of criminal defense. In 2016, Allison was awarded the first Diane “Cookie” Polan Award by the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (“CCDLA”). Allison graduated from Colgate University, and received her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
